An object is said to be at rest when it does not change its position with respect to time. For instance, a book placed on a table or a parked car is at rest. On the other hand, an object is in motion when it continuously changes its position with respect to time. Motion can be uniform or non-uniform. In uniform motion, an object covers equal distances in equal intervals of time, whereas in non-uniform motion, the distances covered vary with time. The speed of an object is a measure of how fast it is moving. It is calculated using the formula:

Speed = Distance / Time
