In the following questions a statement of assertion followed by a statement of reason is given. Choose the correct answer out of the following choices.
(a) Both the Assertion and the Reason are correct and the Reason is the correct explanation of the Assertion.
(b) Both the Assertion and the Reason are correct but the Reason is not the correct explanation of the Assertion.
(c) The Assertion is incorrect but the Reason is correct.
(d) The Assertion is correct but the Reason is incorrect.

Q1. Assertion (A): The Constitution of India does not provide any single integrated judicial system.
Reason (R): This means that unlike some other federal countries of the world, India does not have separate State courts.

Ans. (c) The Assertion is incorrect but the Reason is correct.

Q2. Assertion(A): Supreme Court not just settles disputes but also interprets the powers of Union and State government as laid down in the Constitution.
Reason (R): The Original Jurisdiction of the Supreme Court establishes it as an umpire in all disputes regarding federal matters.

Ans. (a) Both the Assertion and the Reason are correct and the Reason is the correct explanation of the Assertion.

Q3. Assertion(A): A person can appeal to the Supreme Court against the decisions of the High Court.
Reason(R): The Supreme Court is the highest court of appeal.

Q4. Assertion(A): Decisions made by the Supreme Court are binding on all other courts within the territory of India.
